On 19th May 2024, I’ll be setting off from Young to cycle over 475km to raise much needed funds to support country kids.
I want to help make a difference, so I’m going the distance and have committed to personally fundraising a minimum of $3,000 to support the incredible work of Boys to the Bush.

Why am I doing this ?
Wednesday 1st May
In a couple of weeks time I’ll be throwing on the Lycra and setting off from Young to cycle over 475km on FDC’s annual Ride to Give in support of country kids.
I’m determined to help make a difference so I’ve committed to fundraising a minimum of $3,000 to support our charity partner Boys to the Bush who do incredible work helping at risk youth in regional Australia.
Growing up playing sports and living my teenage years racing my bike at a competitive level gave me a lot discipline and opportunities to meet great mentors and coaches to help make my way through life and set myself up in a stable environment. I learnt the importance of mate ship and surrounding myself with people of positive influence, when the times got tough training in the middle of winter or long days out on the bike, or not getting a result I was happy with, Surrounding myself with mentors or people of positive nature kept me disciplined to get up and do it all again the next day.
Unfortunately not every child receives these opportunities or support in their younger years to navigate life and its challenges, and it can knock people down very quickly taking them off track and into places where everything, even the simple tasks seem impossible. I am supporting Boys to the Bush as it gives kids the correct tools, environments and opportunities to better themselves. Removing them from troubled environments and distractions, replacing them with positive influences, mentoring and sense of belonging. This helps these kids build self respect, mate ship, resilience and confidence for these kids.
Every dollar of donation, no matter how large or small goes directly towards improving the lives of disengaged and vulnerable boys in regional communities who need it most and truly adds up to make a difference.
